Having one moment of distraction behind the wheel can result in tragic consequences. Such is the case for a woman who recently died in a two-vehicle accident. The fatal accident happened in Louisiana. According to reports, the crash happened when a pickup truck crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car driven by a 48-year-old woman. State troopers say that the woman died at the scene of the accident.
The pickup truck was driven by a 30-year-old man, who was traveling north on Liberty Road when the crash occurred. Police say that the man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the tragic crash, but it is unknown if the victim was wearing a seat belt. The police administered several tests to the pickup driver to test for intoxication, including breath, blood and urine tests.
According to police reports, the immediate results of the breath test did not show any alcohol in the pickup truck driver’s system. The results of the other tests are not known at this time. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
In this fatal accident, the family of the woman will have to deal with the sudden loss of their loved one. The family members will likely be interested in the results of the testing done on the other driver as well as the outcome of the police investigation. While they will have to work to come to terms with their tragic loss, the family may have the option of legal action against the driver in an attempt to hold him responsible for the death of their loved one.
