Lee M. Schwalben, MD, JD, is the founding attorney of this law firm. Dr. Schwalben received his undergraduate degree from Vassar College and his MD from State University of New York- Down State Medical Center. He completed a residency in internal medicine and is board-certified in internal medicine. He has served as a medical director of a long-term acute care facility and of multiple long term care facilities. He has extensive inpatient and outpatient experience. After almost 20 years of practicing medicine, Dr. Schwalben attended St. John’s University School of Law and actively represents plaintiffs in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is also admitted to the bar in New York and Florida (and is currently inactive in Florida).
Dr. Schwalben represents victims of medical malpractice and other catastrophic injuries, the majority of which are in Southwest Louisiana. Considering his medical background, Dr. Schwalben has special interests in patients, of all ages, who have been seriously injured or who have died as a result of malpractice in inpatient and outpatient settings. He has also cared for patients injured in automobile and trucking accidents and understands the effects that these injuries can have on victims and their families. He has the added advantage of being able to communicate on an advanced level with their providers.
